Since December 2007, Antonio Familari runs Cave Barreca, an independent wine shop located in a charming street on the left bank in Paris. The Luxembourg gardens are on one side and on the other, the famous Val-de-Grace church with its St. Pieter styled dome that evokes images of Italy.

Wine is an encounter with nature and the efforts of women and men that bring out the best from their terroir.  Our shop offers a place where you can discovering the fine wines produced by these dedicated winemakers. You can listen to their history, their values and their approach. We love to hear your preferences, your favourite variety of grapes. We will introduce you to new discoveries.

We are always aiming to offer a wide selection of both classic wines from large vineyards as well as wines from lesser well-known estates. Like you, we love wine and our choices, either conventional or original are always authentic. We prefer buying our wines directly from winegrowers with whom we often establish close relationships. During our regular wine tastings, we also like you to meet these women and men who speak with such passion about their land, their grapes, and their latest harvest.

We will tell you about the history, the vision, or give you the snippets of information that are hiding behind a label; whether it is a ‘grand cru’, an entry-level wine from a large French or Italian estate, or an organic wine from a small-scale producer. No wine just ends up in our shop; we are too small to waste space with stocking ordinary wines! We are convinced that our careful selection, knowledge and dedication allows us to offer you wines that will meet your highest expectations... and will surprise you!
